I'm from the UK and going out to Aus for my working holiday, As we all know we need to take a fair few bucks with us to get us started my question is whats the most efficient and safe way to take it across?
Do maestro cards work in atm's ? in stores? online? over the phone? charges?
What's peoples views on using Australian banks? I've set up a pre-account with NAB as i'm stopping in Byron Bay that's the local bank there.
anyone had any problems using the hometowns card in Aus or have any good suggestions?
Thanks guys :D
Maestro (and other debit) cards are fine in ATMs and in stores but not over the phone or online. They can only be used in person in Australia.
HReynolds Im an Australian liveing in asia. When you get to OZ go to the bank ask for a
Debit card for on line purchases. Its like a credit card but the catch is its actualy your
avaliable funds. A touch and pay card.
Buy a plane ticket on line.
Buy a weekly bus ticket.
Even pay for a haircut.
With this one little card you dont ever need to cary cash.
If you need cash put it in the machine enter your pin "DADA"cash.
My card is called paypass debit.
