This thread is marked as being about Thailand

I have just booked tickets to Thailand for 1 month over August to the beginning of September.

I am female, 20 years old and I will be traveling alone! I am definitely up for meeting a travel companion as I am pretty nervous about traveling around alone.

At the moment I have just booked my flights, I am going to book a hostel, hopefully on Khao San road, apparently Khao San road is where most travellers tend to stay as its cheap and the best way to meet people.

I have planned out a basic route from Bangkok...

• Arriving in Bangkok
• Make my way by bus to Siem Reep, visit Angkor Wat/Killing fields and surrounding temples in Cambodia
• Make my way again by bus to Phnom Penh (capital of Cambodia), length of stay depending on interest.
• Next: Ho Chi Minh City (Capital City of Vietnam), staying for a few days, visit to the coast etc.
• Flight to Bangkok from Ho Chi Minh, costing around £40.
• Bangkok > Koh Phangan, including; Full moon party, Koh Phi Phi (island from the Beach), snorkling etc.
• Back to Bangkok, potential to fly (with flights costing around £40-£50). Bus and boat ferries are also a possibility.
• Last stay in Bangkok then fly home..

So bangkok, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thai Islands back to Bangkok..

So if anyone has any other advise of wants to meet up at all during travels let me know!!

I am also arriving in bangkok on 5th august but have only 6 days as in INDIA , u hardly get leaves in the private sector.

I plan to spend 2 days in bangkok, then 2 in pattaya ,1 in koh samet and last one shoppin again in bangkok.

Full moon party will remain a dream though.

Hope to meet u at some point of the trip.

Thanks! Just a basic plan, so I'm not completely lost when I get to Bangkok!

Hey Chloe,

Sounds like we'll be in Thailand around the same time doing similar things.

I land in Bangkok on the 12th August staying on Khao San Road for a few days to get my bearings then heading straight to Koh Phangan for the FMP on the 21st meeting up with a few people from this forum :)

After that I'm heading to Khon Kaen to do a bit of volunteering for a while, then looking to find scuba paradise. That's as far as my plans extend at the moment as far as SE Asia is concerned.

Heading to Australia after that on the 21st September :)

You travelled much before?

Sorry for the late reply, been so busy

I've never travelled before, this is my first time!

I am going to Koh Phangan on the 21st too. I haven't really got any solid plans after that, I was just going to improvise... I leave SE Asia on the 6th of Sept.

Have you booked hostels etc in advance for the full moon party? I heard it gets pretty booked up.

cheers, Chloe.

No worries. Ah exciting times then!

Sweet I might see you there then :).. Yeah I've only got a rough idea of what I'd like to do then I'm going to make arrangements as and when I'm there.

I've booked from the 19th - 23rd at Beach Village Backpackers and I know a few other people who're at the fmp on the 21st are there as well. I did it a few weeks back but I'm sure there will still be rooms available. Not sure if its necessary being the low season but I'd rather make sure I get somewhere decent in advance.

Helping out at a monastery for a few weeks, doing different types of work I believe. Ah right nice, I won't be out there myself until 1st September. You got much planned for the north eastern region?
