Alright Richard,

I got my travel insurance after reading alot of reviews on which company offered the best value for money and had a good reputation among travellers, i came to the conclusion the true traveller insurance company looked the best. Hope that is of some help mate.

Hey everyone
I land in Sydney the start of September and I'm flying with emirates think it was about £1300 which was a bit pricey but its only one stop in Dubai each way and costs about £50 to change my return flight if I want to when I'm out there. Got my visa sorted just need to find good/cheap travel insurance now if anyone knows a good company?

Sounds like a plan that Lydia, think am going to do something similar with the flights, although might try and find something a bit cheaper.

Good question Richard, I was thinking of comparison websites for travel insurance, but it does raise another question do you need to sort medical insurance out seperately or is this just covered under travel insurance? Anyone know?

there's the link you asked for rich.

im unsure if i should just go straight into staying in a hostel or have one nights recovery for jet lag in a hostel? just wondering what everyone elses thought on this were?

I'm staying in a hotel next to the airport when I get there for a night as it was included in my flight deal. Plus it'll give me recovery time to help get over my jet lag haha then the next day I'm getting a shuttle bus to my hostel

Hey guys,

I'm doing it slightly different to you because I'm traveling around south east Asia for a bit first but aiming to be in Oz / Melbourne for 10th December heading to Sydney for Nye before I look for work for a year.. is anybody else going to be in Melbourne or Sydney then?

Are you all aiming to get work straight away? I'd ideally like to travel but depends on how my money is and I've heard it's seriously expensive in Australia!

Going it alone which is pretty scary so if anybody else is going to be in similar places at the same time would be good to chat :)

Hey All

I arrive Perth mid September then have a flight booked to Melbourne & arrive on 23rd September. All after a months travel in Asia.

Getting very excited - but so much still to do!
