Now when I log in, I can no longer see my comments or if I have any new subscribers!

This is now fixed - both counts are shown on the blogs page.

You can also add me into the category of not being a fan of the new default font size. Firstly the forum thread list looks clumsy, as does forum posts. It also adds a lot of extra scrolling to do - and if a forum post is quoted (e.g. Post 13 on this thread), then this is amplified (perhaps decreasing the font size for quoted text would help?). The spacing between lines seems to be too big as well, making it awkward to read (I don't think readability has improved, for me it's got worse).

Also, personally the default font size at default zoom is very uncomfortable for me - I'm slightly long-sighted (or far-sighted if you prefer) and I'm finding myself having to sit further back to try and make reading more comfortable (and I am wearing glasses).

Also I notice the font size in the text box to write a reply is not the same as on the forum, which is an inconsistency - yet the space between lines, and the space between paragraphs is rather large.

I have in the past thought that the old font size should be increased, but really only to 12 or 13px - 11 was too small, I'd agree with that.

This is a list of all active threads in our forum. A list of subforums can be seen on the right

Yeah, this I definitely agree with. The font size in the textarea is the same as in the sidebar and throughout much of the site (13px). But the line-height is wrong there. I'll fix this.

Working on lineheight at the moment as a sitewide thing as well. Hopefully just tweaking that will convert all you non-believers :)

One thing Kellie just suggested maybe we can remove this block of text in the main forum index view: "This is a list of all active threads in our forum. A list of subforums can be seen on the right". It does rather push down the threads below it and probably quite unnecessarily so. Would enough people be able to work out that the subforums are listed on the right / under each thread title?

prob. mostly highlighted on the photos pages as the pics now appear quite small, when compared to the massive text next to them

Just to clarify, which photos pages are you referring to? The ones in the gallery or your private photo management area? There is quite a lot of detail showing in the gallery pages next to each photo. Probably more than is really needed actually. It might help if I reduce some of that information.

I'll spend some time working on line-heights and margins today. See if I can find a middle ground :)

talking about public gallery page, these pics/comments look different to the blog - i.e. much bigger. i dont think the name of the pic, and the comment + info below need to be so big....to my mind they also dont 'part of' my blog - because of the font size difference, before everything felt 'the same' now some pages jar when you go to them. i think the info next to the pics was fine, and the page looked 'clean'. in one of my pics there is a road sign, catus, the name of the town is the heading and is almost as big! pics now look 'small' when compared to the writing, and where there is a long comment, now creeps into next one/creates white space. look forward to yr comments/action. thanks peter.

I think that would be a bad idea to remove it. You may remember me starting a thread a couple of years ago on the default "all threads" view that I thought wasn't working, was confusing, and things end up in the wrong places. My view hasn't changed on that, so to remove the only thing that points people in the direction of there being specific forums would not be a good move in my mind. Otherwise a person would likely only see there are specific forums if they start a new thread, and then there's the messy dropdown as there are no "optgroup" categories unlike in the "Jump to" dropdown list that is easy to miss due to the large, green "Start a new thread" button right above it.

peter, think the pics pages are looking much better already!
just a quickie though, on my first page of pics the titles are underlined, but its not so on the other pages further back?
it looks a lot better though - with less space and smaller writing.

The line spacing is better, but I'm still not convinced by the font-size. Another line spacing issue is the space between li items (e.g. in right hand column on forum view, or on members online page). That just looks weird at the moment with the amount of space between items.

I think coming down a font size would go a long way - although I would prefer down to 13px for a balance. I also think the font size for the thread title is too large, and the controlpanel/log out links in the top right of the page are too large too - their size unbalances the main TP logo.

Hmm, I wonder if you just hit it halfway through me uploading changes. There shouldn't be a line under any of the titles.

It was definitely the wrong heading style for that spot, so agreed it's an improvement

Agreed with this one and have decreased the font size for quoted text, which helps put extra emphasis on the main content (which I still think is at the right size sorry)
