Hi there, I'll be visiting ukraine in a month or so and would like to know if any local can recommend a nice place to visit - I would like to specify that I like to visit places of great natural beauty. This isn't to say that I wouldn't want to visit a place like Kiev or Odessa (yes, I've done some research already), but essentially speaking, could you suggest places to visit that are beautiful. I've been to Montana during my last vacation, and I loved it - could someone suggest something equivalent for Ukraine. Sorry for the detailed questioning, LOL

Crimea is a fascinating region to explore, as well as a great place to spend a vacation. And also Uman dendro park Sophievka is worth to visit for it's real world landscape architecture masterpiece of the end of the XVIII-th century and the beginning of the XIX-th.

Hello - I've been on a long visit to Ukraine just last year, and one of the loveliest places in Ukraine would be the Crimea. It has all the things you've asked for and more - there's some amazing natural beauty, and if you tire of that, there are the ruins of a lost civilization. Yes, I do know that it's a tourist spot, and you probably don't want that, but there are lots of places where you can escape 'from the madding crowd' and be alone with nature.

I found this link with a nice description and some pictures...

I would suggest that you do a google search and an image search on 'Crimea' and take a look at what you see, and then decide if you'd like to visit. Let me know if you'd like to go there, and I can post details of the hotel that I used, and some travel tips, if you like. I'll do this if you decide you'd like to visit Crimea. Take care, and where ever you decide to go, I hope you have a lovely trip!

As for Crimea, I want to say that August is going to be super loaded. Almost impossible to find a hotel. And you should better rent a car there. Coz taxi is too expensive, especially for foreign tourists. public buses are horrible.
