i just started watching this show. its a reality show about how people lived in the prairie days. i luv it. i love the struggle and the living outdoors. there are these two couples one old and one young. you watch them struggle through chores, building their homes, being apart from their family. when i was younger i lov reading "little house on the prairie" or "anne of green gables". if i had to do a reality show it would be to live on the prairie and to ride horses and such. i guess i like it because you depend on people to survive. even, if you dont like them (the relationship of the couple is often rocky) but you work through it thru hard work. ah it was refreshing and good tv. thanks. thought i like to share.

It's broadcast on the local PBS stations. Nothing like the Simple Life. It's modern day people who live without modern amenities - think Little House on the Prairie. They have to live the type of existence that the settlers lived. It's replayed quite often during pledge weeks so look for it then. Or, come visit us and you'll get a taste...

I may just do that Isa...I only catch TV programs between 11 pm and 1 am (when it is time to go to bed) so hopefully it will be playing on PBS then...I seem to catch a lot of New York History in PBS lately...NY in the 20s, NY in the 30s, NY in the 40s. Not that I am complaining but I think someone in my local PBS has a thing or two for New York (as I do too).

So do I, but the ones that can be sort of constructive I do watch...there are probably two or three among the 1000 playing on TV now...

Yup, the loathing for reality shows is rampant here too. If we were on Survivor - Pearl Islands, Mr. I would have built a "Swiss Family Robinson" house while Mrs. I killed and preserved the other contestants - we'd never run out of food.

Reality TV, to us, seems the worst kind of voyeurism - it's not real thanks to the magic of video - daily living is real enough. Besides, that's why we were given the power of imagination. (Personal opinion.)
