Travel Forums Europe getting in early - London

danamaree has indicated that this thread is about England

I'll be flying into Heathrow at 5.55am in the morning around June.

I'm going to try and sleep on the plane, but obviously I'm going to tired and I know that any hostel I book won't let people in until the afternoon.

The question is, what do I do during the day with a backpack until then? Sleep at the airport? (can I do that?) Unless I can find a place to stash the bag I can't really sight-see for the day, and I'll know I'll be too buggered to do so with a bag anyway.

Anyone have any suggestions?

By the time you get to your hostel, it will probably be 8am or so and you may be able to stash your bag before you can actually check in.

If they say "no", just say that you had emailed them a month ago and they had said "yes".

There's nowhere I know of to sleep at Heathrow; perhaps a locker at one of the major train stations (Victoria, Paddington, etc).

You could sleep AT Heathrow I guess for a while

OR to use up a few hours without hanging around get the National Express coach to Gatwick Airport (17 quid I think)then the Gatwick Express train from Gatwick to London Victoria. By the time you're in London and heading towards your digs it'll be time to check in I guess.
