Hey there... I'm in need of advice right now. I'm thinking of going to Brisbane around end of April 2005 for a month. I have found a place to stay with a friend of mine so basically accomodation is taken care of. She lives pretty near Gold Coast so we can actually drive there. I'm just wondering what's the cheapest rate to stay in Gold Coast? Do I need a booking first or what? And with accomodations covered, is around AUD600-700 enough to cover for a month? I'm also interested to get to Sydney for a few days. I searched out some fares and it seems like Jetstar is offering AUD125 return airfare. I wonder if there are cheaper ways to get to Sydney? Other than hitch-hiking? Such as buses, do they have just a 2 way ticket instead of monthly passes? I hope somebody can answer my questions :) Thank you!

other airlines to check out include qantas and virgin blue. there are also buses between sydney and brisbane, but i'm not sure if they would be any cheaper than the airfares. here is a site i found that details some of your options and costs

good luck with whatever u decide

actually i've found one, and this is the cheapest I can find, I think. I can't believe that the airport tax is so expensive in Australia! gosh... and flights are cheaper than coaches! wow... anyway, thanks for the info :) appreciate it!
