Hi guys,

I'm an 18 year old girl from Brighton who is planning to travel along the East Coast of Oz in November.

I'm planning to fly to Melbourne in November, work there for a month, then move onto Sydney for a few weeks over Xmas and NYE (which is my birthday too, so it's a big one haha).

From Sydney, I'm planning on going to Byron Bay, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Fraser Island, Whitsunday Islands before finishing in Cairns at the beginning of April and moving onto SE Asia.

I'm planning on using the greyhound bus to get around and staying in hostels, so if any of you know of the best hostels or where you are staying, let me know! :)

I have never been travelling before and am a bit scared about going on my own, so it would be great to meet some people who are planning on doing the same thing.

The whole 24 hours on a plane then entering a country you know nothing about on your own is scary too, so would be even better to meet before, or at the airport and fly together.

Anyway, hope someone else out there is in the same boat, and if you are get in touch!

Mollie :)

Hi Mollie,

Hows things?

Im planning on doing similar, i finish up my work on the 31st of October and planning on flying into Melbourne the next again week- Either the 4th or 5th of November. When do you fly out?

Are you only planning on staying in Aus until April?

Im planning on doing the same route, working my way up the coast to eventually finish up in Cairns. Ive never been travelling before and was a bit scared at first but after talking to people on here I realised there are alot of people the same so you shoudlnt worry about that.

Keep in touch with your plans.

Stu :)

Hi Stu,

I'm all good thanks, you?

I haven't booked a flight yet but am aiming to go around the same dates as you - I need to get booking really!

Where are you flying from and have you booked your flight yet?

Yeah, planning on finishing in Cairns in early April, then flying across to Bali and travelling through SE Asia until the end of June.

How long are you planning on staying in Oz?

Yeah, seems like there are loads of people doing the same as us, so meeting friends should be easy! :)

Look forward to hearing back from you, would be good to keep in touch about plans!

Mollie :D

Im good thanks :).

Im the same, ive looked at everything I need just havent get round to doing it. Get paid at the end of the month so ill get my flights etc booked then. Im flying from Edinburgh, so it will be a stop of in London then a stop of in Kuala Lumper. Its one mad flight haha.

That sounds amazing. Im planning on staying in Aus for the year and hopefully do enough farming work to get my second year visa but ill just take things as it comes once ive travelled up the coast. Depends on money too, if ive got enough id like to do New Zealand and SE Asia keep the travelling going a bit longer :).

Good!

How long do you stop off at London for cause that's where I'll be flying from, so if we were on the same plane we could have a drink in the bar or something?

Ahh it all sounds so exciting.

Let me know when you have booked your flight.

Mollie :)

Not sure how long the stop off was, it depends on what flight I eventually book. Ill let you know when its all booked see if your going to be there at the same time :).

Sounds like a good plan, would be good to have some company on a 24 hour flight haa.

Just want the next 4 months to fly in and get out of here.

Add me on Fb and ill keep in touch.

Just added you.

Yeah 24 hours is long enough, let alone on your own on a plane..

Keep in touch on FB
