So, my best friend and I are going on an Around the World Trip pretty soon. We will be going to Paris, Singapore, Australia, Belize, Hawaii, London, and Tanzania. Although we have most of the trip planned out already and we've been travelling many times we've never been on a trip this long before. We were wondering if any Around the World experienced travelers had any advice for us. We were also wondering if you guys had any suggestions on any places we should go or sights we should see or food we should eat. Anything is welcomed
always take more than one credit and debit card, they stop working at the most inconvenient time.
If you are doing Internet banking DON'T use Internet cafes, use the business section in a good hotel.
use a money belt for archived important things, you'll be checked at the airports when you go thru but they will just frisk you.
check with your hotel/hostel the areas in a city which could be dangerous, use common sense.
Most of your trip will be easy traveling and if you are in Tanzania you'll be with a group so I don't see any problems, your guide will give you all the information you need and keep you safe..
If you get the chance visit Zanzibar the beaches are amazing and the people very friendly.
The one thing I would say about Africa is cash is King, ATMs are few and far between if you are outside cities so take cash and keep in a body belt or in the safe of a hotel.
We traveled for three months from South Africa to Kenya and had an amazing time visiting the National Parks and Reserves. Take a decent camera.
Australia is made for camping visit the Great Barrior Reef go out on a sailing boat and snorkel, visit Whitsundays, Sidney is a great place to visit. Lots of great beaches but you can't always swim in the sea because of the jelly fish, sharks and crocs in the north.
Starting your tour from paris is a very good option, because there are best places in paris to visit and tourists usually fighting against a tight schedule at the same time.places likes Eiffel tower,Catacombs of paris, Musee du louvre,Palace of versailles,Notre dame cathedral of paris and so on.
singapore is also very beautiful place to visit. some places like Singapore zoo, night safari , under water world is awesome ,science center, etc.
Good to know your travel time is that long, How I wish I can freely do the same. Surely it would accompany cost but the experience you'll get is really worth it. Just Enjoy your trip .
Can definitely suggest some London places to go! You'll probably already know about all the major tourist sites like Trafalgar Square and Big Ben but definitely travel a little further out of the center to places like Greenwich for a more quaint and villagey feel. Hoxton is the current 'cool' area in London so have a look around for cute cafes and amazing street art.
Foodwise, there's heaps of amazing restaurants around Soho and street food is huge in London atm so make sure you see if there's any markets on when you head there
