I would like to do a 4-6 day trek to Machu Picchu in October and I am looking for recommendations. I am not interested in the Inca trail because from what I have heard it is overcrowded and expensive. I am interested in other treks and have heard good things about the Lares Trek. Does anyone have other recommendations or the name of a good guiding company? Thanks!

there are plenty of alternative treks around machu picchu, The one i made was gorgeous, around machu Picchu from santa maria, exotic landscapes, thermal bath, wonderful and amazing vegetation, good treks but not as physical as the inca trail or salkantay.
We have visited mysterious hidden sacred sites along the way, known only by the local population and we got to learn from inca s legend and histories, as well as plants and their medicinal functions.
The company is called wiracocha tours peru
Have a nice travel
