My name is Pakawat from Thailand. I am a student in the UK. I need some advice about applying Schengen visa. However, before I ask for the specific advice, I'd like to introduce my travel plan a little bit.
Recently, my girl friend and I came up with one of the most adventurous travel plans in our lives. After we finish our courses in the UK, we decide to go back home in Bangkok, Thailand. However, it is no ordinary trip because we are planning to get home by only land transportations and we will travel along the way. That means I am going to do Europe trip, Trans-Siberian railway trip, Mongolia trip, China trip and South East Asia trip in a single journey!
Since we do not need visas to enter Russia, Mongolia, and South East Asian countries, we only need two visas, namely, Schengen and Chinese visas. The Chinese visa will not be a problem to apply because it is fairly easy to be accepted. On the other hand, I am worried about getting the Schengen visa. We are going to apply it at the Italian embassy because we will spend most of our time there while we are in Schengen state. However, to apply the visa, it is required that the evidence of the return booking must be present as the the statement on the website says "Fully paid return bookings for your complete travel itinerary. Please note that proof of payment must clearly be shown." <http://it.vfsglobal.co.uk/nonimmigrant_tourist_documents.html>
In this case, how should we apply for the visa since we decide to go for a single trip home and we will not return to the UK? Is the evidence to leave the Schengen state (say the bus ticket from Tallinn, Estonia to St. Petersburg, Russia) sufficient?
Thank you in advance.
