The splash (when you click on one destination in the map) is always stuck by default in one city in the beginning of my itinerary map (London) when I open it. Do you know how to remove it from there and also put it (the "splash") on my last destination as default? Thanks
I'm not sure quite what you mean by 'splash'. Do you mean the stop/guide notes that display on the map?
I understand. Loop.
My trips seem to have the splash at the start (or the end) too. It is possible to click on any other destination in the same trip and that will movethe splash to that destination but once you close down the maps and open it up again, the splash is back to the beginning (or end) of the trip again. I have no isea how to change the default - it doesn't bother me now.
I think you are referring to the highlighted city. When viewing your map on TP, the default is to highlight the first stop on your map. For example, here the highlighted stop is New York.
What you are suggesting with a 'current location' marker is an interesting idea, although I will have to check with Peter whether this is possible.
For anyone blogging their journey, it is possible to insert a zoomed version of the map to display the location that your entry relates to.
Hi Kellie. thanks for your reply. I'm having the same issue as Borisborough. BUT my map is embedded in my own page (not in the travellerspoint blog). Most of the time the highlighted or "splashed" point defaults to London, which is neither my first nor last stop. Also, the "zoomed version," which would be very useful for me, does not work outside travellerspoint blog. I'm currently traveling around the world. Pls take a look at my page www.looploose.com
It is certainly curious that the highlighted stop is in the middle of your trip, as this is not selectable. I wonder if that was the last stop you clicked on TP before copying the embed code ?
These instructions in the forums will help you with zoom for embedded maps.
Hi Kellie, thanks for your reply. The zoom code works great. The highlighted point however is still London. I try clicking on some other point and saving it (first, last, other cities) but nothing. It changes in the beginning right after I save it, but eventually it goes back to London. A mystery?
Hi Kellie, I removed London to test what would happen and the default became Dublin. This means that any city which I pick as the destination from my flight from New York becomes permanent highlighted. Hope it gives you more insight. Pls let me know if you find anything new. Thanks.
