You know, that sounds pretty reasonable as an amount. I think £2000 pounds is how much immigration wants you to have. That's almost AU $5000, which I would imagine to be enough for at least 2 months. Seems pretty safe to me Still, make the most of the opportunity to earn some pounds. Australian wages generally pale in comparison to British ones.
cheers for that Peter. will keep on doing the overtime here so i can cover more miles there! can't wait!!
That's the spirit I'm sure you'll love every minute of it. And while you're counting down the minutes, people here should be able to make you giddy with excitement
2000 quid will be enough to tie you over for a bit when you first come here. The exchange rate definately works in the favour of the Brits coming over. As long as you don't go out for dinner in Darling Harbour every night that'll be plenty for a month or so!! Just don't fall into the converting back to british money, thinking wow that's cheap and buying armfuls! Especially when it comes to the surf gear - you could buy out quicksilver here for what a top costs back home!!!
Just go for it - and have the time of your life (wow - how cheesy does that sound)!!!!
