I'm planning to arrive in Bangkok at the end of March (from Cairns, after travelling through Oz for a few months) for the Thai new year.
From there, I want to go to Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos, before heading back down Thailand, to the islands and then back to Bangkok at the end of June.
Has anyone else got a similar plan or are planning to be in Asia at the same time?
Although I would have been travelling alone in Australia for five months before, travelling through Asia alone seems a lot scarier!
If there is enough of us around at the same time, I'll set up a Facebook page to keep in touch!?
Look forward to hearing from you.
I have just returned from a 3 wk trip but planning my nxt one for around march! I am planning on spending 1.5 week in nepal/himalayas trekking and then few days in bangkok+phuket (krabi/ao nang).
What route are you planning in March?
I'm heading to Bangkok end of March for Songkran, then heading into Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos, then heading down Thailand, down to the islands and then back to Bangkok at the end of June.
Hi..i did not realise it would be songkran but might be worth trying to be in bkk for then! I was in bkk for buddha day last week and they are not allowed to serve alcohol 2 days so nightlife was dead!
My route will simply be dehli+nepal for 8 nights, bangkok 2 nights then flying down to phuket and spending 3/4 days max on krabi/railey beach (flexible), before flying back to india to get my flight to the UK.
I just did chiang mai, koh samui, bangkok and cambodia (siem reap) all places worth visiting, from koh samui i would recommend staying on koh tao and koh pan nang instead.
