Someone is sure to mention it sooner or later ... using capital letters is liking shouting in cyberspace.

autos are plentiful in syd, and if youre spending 12 months you would be wise and happier to buy a vehicle. campers are more expensive, but save save you a lot more in accomidation. cars are cheap(er). it just depends on what you want to do with your time. i dont know your auto comprehension, but to make a good purchace and find a reliable vehicle there are a few basics to learn. good luck and happy travels. and be wary the person that says "trust me."

Have a squiz at www.travellersmate.com.au Murray, the owner, talks you through everything and helps get everything sorted out with insurance etc... Drop him an e-mail and he or his chatterbox wife will be glad to hear from you. :)

the advantage to campervans are that you don't have to doll out more money for accommodation, but they can be more of a hindrance if you're trying to go to some places off the beaten track just because of their size. but if your planning to stick to more well worn routes, i don't think you'll have a problem with either a car or a campervan.

good luck with whatever you decide,
cheers,
