Hi

I cant remember the exact price of a VIP card but Im sure it was under £20. You can get them from backpacking travel shops like STA or you can buy them online from the VIP website.

Hope this helps:)

Hi Sammy

If you release the caps lock on your keyboard, it would a lot easier to read your thread.

with my flight i purchased an IYTC 'international youth travel card' (a youth discount card) from STA travel. (i had to purchase it when buying flight!) i just wondered whether it was also worth buying a VIP card aswell. has anyone else ever brought this kind of card? whats the discounts like?
thanks

Pardon my ignorance...but WHAT is a VIP card? (yes I tried to look it up, but VIP had 14,800,000 results on Google, and not one of the first bazillion I went though looked like a travel thingy)

I just did a Google search with the words "australian VIP card". Here is one of the results:

The VIP Membership Kit features an Australian Accommodation & Discount Guide, a World Accommodation and Discount Directory as well as a VIP Backpackers Card and the VIP BRA/Greyhound Australia Map, all pocket sized for your convenience.
The VIP Membership Card entitles you to discounts that will more than repay your purchase cost and will also guide you to the leading backpacker hostels throughout the world.

With the VIP Membership Card you will be entitled to discounts per night off the normal tariff at the participating hostels as well as discounts on airline fares, coach/bus passes, trains, car hire, ferries, restaurants, safari tours, dives, skiing, rafting, horse trekking, photo processing, store purchases, bike hire, and a lot more ...... it's the most fun way to save the most money, and it's only AUD$35.00.
