Hi all :)
I was wondering if anyone has any info about jobs in Australia doing fruit picking?
What company did they go with. Was accommodation provided? And how long did they do it for?
And info would be amaze!

Hi,

I've just completed my second year visa.. I'm guessing this might be what your working towards??

if so i would highly suggest trying to find a voluntary job on the Helpx forum. currently there are to many people trying to find paid farm work. I was one of them. i spent 6 weeks trying to find work in Queensland that in the end it took me 5 months to actually complete my 88 days work. most of the working hostels in Queensland have around 3 - 4 days work which usually only covers food and rent. At the moment its tough times trying to gain a paid job, that's why i suggest paying a 2 year subscription to the helpx forum which will enable you to secure a job for food and accommodation in return for between 4 - 6 hours work a day.

if you don't want to volunteer and take the path of finding a paid job then i would look at going northern Queensland. You ask what company they went for but there is no company you can turn to that will help you find a farm job. well not that I'm aware of anyways. There is a national harvest hotline that you can ring but its pretty pointless as its always the same story.

its not all doom and gloom, there are people out there that get very lucky. Just be aware don't leave your 88 days to the last minute.
