Hi

myself and my girlfriend are going to Oz for 12 months, arriving in Brisbane in 4 weeks time and plan to travel up the east coast to Cairns over 3 weeks before we set about finding work and settling somewhere (wherever there is work!) We are trying to figure out the cheapest way of doing this, but not forgetting we want to have a laugh too. We originally planned to do it by camper van but any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Should we rent/hire a car or campervan or use the Greyhound bus services etc??

Thanks

Hello,

I would go for the van mate. Don’t forget that you can camp for free in Australia – I mean not like in Europe where you have to book yourself in a campervan park and pay for the nights you staying in….. Also, there are BBQs in most of the parks which are free of charge; you just have to clean after you finished using it – that should help you to safe some cash as well.

Cheers

Ok cool, thanks for that. I wasn't aware that there you can park your camper for free! Is that in all parks or just certain campervan parks?
We'd have no problem cleaning up, anything to save cash!!!

Thanks
