Hi

I'm thinking of booking a one way flight to Australia I've already got my WHV sorted and have more than the required $5000 aus dollar, only worry is i've heard some horror stories of people being turned away because they have no return flight out of there, I don't want to book a return flight home as i may want to fly onto New Zealand or SE Asia after Oz, basically just looking for other people that are in the same boat or have already done this and can spread a bit on wisdom on the subject

Thanks in advance guys

Dale.

Hi Dale, I fly out in 9 days on a 1 way flight, I don't think it will be a problem, most travellers are arriving on a 1 way flight, I think they just like to check that you have enough funds to buy a return flight,

Good luck

Richard

31st of October so I've got another month yet, jealous of you Richard only 9 days!!

Hope you have a great time mate and good luck to you too

As long as you have a WHV, arriving on a one-way ticket is indeed absolutely fine. Did it myself as well, and loads and loads of fellow backpackers do every year.

Ditto above, no issue when you have a WHV.

I ve been told from the australian bureau that if you don't have a return ticket, you have to have 1000$ in addition to the 5000$. so 6000$ in total and you will be fine!
