I'm setting off on my 12 month trip around the world alone in August and really can't wait! I was hoping for some of the travel veterans out there to help me out with what to expect. At the moment I am being very idealistic about the whole thing! I start in NY and end up in Thailand plus this is my first trip anywhere alone ever!
What were your absolute highs and the scariest lows? Help me prepare pls!!
The only low i've ever had is at airports when i'm issued my boarding card to get on the flight home. The absolute highs are the buzz of arriving in a new country. Another buzz i get is when i'm sat in a place that i know my friends will probably never, ever visit in their lives.
You sound like you are kinda in the same situation as me. I hope to go in Sep, and visit Thailand, Australia, NZ, and the US.
Every time i think about going, I just think of all the fantastic sights and experiences I will see and go through, but then I think `jesus- am i really gonna do this on my own`
May I ask, how much money have you set aside for your trip (not including the air fare) and where are you visiting?
