I am currently compiling a list of songs to add to my phone to listen to on my travels and that will hopefully later remind me of parts of my travels when I listen to them again in years to come
Any song suggestions would be great :-D currently I am listening to Mumford & Sons
I was hunting for "travel" music last week and came across this playlist. It's a pretty good one, and not just because it has some of my all-time favorites on it. Check It Out
If you like Mumford, I would also recommend John Butler Trio (particularly their self-titled debut). It's pretty organic and whimsical, and reminiscent of open spaces and opportunity.
Where are you planning on traveling to?
Awesome thanks i will def check them out :-)
Iv actually got a few john butler trio somewhere as they were recommened by a freind but never got round to listening to them.
The general plan i have at the moment is to travel round asia for 2 months and then australia for a year and where ever the road takes me.
What about you?
Sounds like an adventure! I've got sights set on Australia for 6 months (and hopefully longer), and I'm hoping to get there in March 2014. Are you going on a working holiday visa too?
What else is on your playlist?
If you're into hip hop, Blue Scholars use a lot of international influences in their beats which would make for good vibes in new places. Ash Grunwald and Xavier Rudd are two Aussie artists who always remind me of ramblin' travels. Another band, Custom Kings, has an album called Great Escapes. You can't get much more "travel" than that title.
Im hopeing it will be :-)
Have you ever been to aus before? are you going to travel anywhere else or aus your only destination?
Yeh I will be hopefully going to aus Sep 14 on WHV and hopefully be able to get my second WHV Visa. Are you travelling alone or you got some travel buddies??
So far I have The Levellers, imelda may, gaz brookfield, the mouletts, led zeppelin, 65 days of static, Brontide, Brother & Bones, Chase & Status, Don Broco, Frank Turner, Newton Faulkner, Jack johnson, Jim Lockley and the solemn sun, Moulettes, Peatbog fairies, Rudimental, Seth Lakeman & The living end, Yuo me and six, Creed, Three doors down......so just a few lol :-)
I am always open to new music so would def add a bit of hip hop in the mix :-) Thanks for all the suggestions
I've hardly ever been anywhere, and certainly not to Oz or on a trip of this magnitude! And I'll be going it solo. What about you? My plan is to start in Brisbane and hopefully land on my feet, find a job, see everything, change my life, etc etc.
Particularly glad to see Frank Turner, Newton Faulker, Jack Johnson, and the Living End on your list. I'll certainly have to check out all of the names I don't recognize.
