well it totally depends on how much you want to spend.

For Hotels, Guesthouse, Lodges You can spend as low as 5$ a day to as high as 3000$ a day for the stay and trust me the more expensive you go the more the leisure it gets...

Apart from this travel has its own cost, Traveling from Flight would be between 100$ to 300$ approx. Whereas traveling via train in AC compartment would cost you from 20$ to 60$ approx, and via Bus would cost you 7$ to 30$...

Food is on the choice and the any veg meal would cost you approx 4-5$ per meal and Non veg approx 8-10$ per meal in a good restaurant.

Traveling local in Metro City you have skyline Metro, underground metro...

Other places you have Autorickshaws, Rickshaws.

You can hire bikes but you need to have international license. and you need to deposit Security amount equivalent to Bike value...

lemme know if you need any further help...

India is not much expensive to tour for. It totally depends on the budget you set. Go on with your budget, how much max you can willing to to expense on the tour.

Tour expenses as far i can suggest -

Tour with Maximum comfort and good hotels, air travel or other ac travel in either train or bus or cabs, 5-3 star hotel with good foods and visiting of up-to 5-6 cities and roaming in whole city on the average will cost you 2000-3000$ a day.

With no high price hotel, small foodies restaurants, comfortable but cheap buses or cabs or even train can cost up-to 100-300$ a day.

There are other expenses like what you want to buy like clothes, things , articles locally manufactured, getting evolved in some shows etc there depends on you how much you want to loose you pocket. ;)

Again it totally on your budget and how much you want to spend on the things like hotel room, food , traveling vehicles etc.:)
