Yeah that's it just need to do it if I don't ill regret it forever! So excited honestly lol so excited gonna get everything sorted within the next 2 weeks SOS its booked and done.
Does everyone already book hostels on the other side or just see what's available?yeah that's true completely forgot about the seasons might be better to go around march time then maybe?

Danielle how is it!? Least you got some family then just to take the edge off before you go off and of your own thing, yeah New Zealand looks good as well was thinking of ending the year in Thailand new year time for a month 2 months, are you working out there straight the way or travelling for a bit 1st?

Hi Jack,

Yup that's it, better to do it than regret not doing it. Where possible look at booking things yourself. I did for NZ and saved quite a bit. I would definitely recommend booking at least a weeks accommodation before you leave. I'm not saying you wouldn't find anything in December, I'm just saying from what I've read on here etc.

Sydney is beautiful. Quite a bit different than what I expected strangely enough but it is lovely. I've been quite lucky that my family friends have shown me some really nice beaches etc that I'd probably miss if I was on my own. I chose to do a stop off here because I know a few people and was more confident coming here first than going straight to NZ first. I'm doing the kiwi experience in November, then hoping to find work in January *fingers crossed* let us know of your plans :)

Hey Guys
My girlfriend and I will be arriving in Melbourne 6th Feb '14 on 1 year WHV
We are booked into base St.Kilda for 2 weeks while we attempt to acclimatize lol
Will be looking to do work, best way to meet other travelers, then possibly work up the coast and doing
fruit picking or something similar
Be great to hear from fellow travelers arriving at around that time with a similar plan
Morgan X

Haha need to man up and stop being a wuss lol when you say book yourself what do you mean? Yeye I know whAt your saying its a busy time isn't it. Am thinking realistically be February. How much money are you taking with you if you don't mind me asking? :)I bet , So you don't plan on coming back to Australia just a visit to family then straight to nz for a year? Brilliant if I pass by there you'll have to show me few places lol tbh I'm not sure weather to fly to Hong Kong for a week then to Sydney? Then ill go along the east cost then to Melbourne and I've got to go to Tasmania looks mad ! Lol am hoping to travel for a bit 1st before I have to work but obviously that's until my money runs out haha

Hello I am a 21 year old female and planning to go to Australia in January 2014. I will be travelling on my own and am so nervous as I have only ever been away from home for 6 months ( I did a season in Zante, Greece) however I was with friends. As this is a rather last minute decision I will have to work in Australia. Does anyone know the best way to apply for jobs? I would also love to eventually travel to New Zealand and then either move on to Asia or North America however I would not want to do that on my own.

Would love to get in touch with people who are in the same boat as me.

Hey guys

Don't be nervous about travelling alone! Loads of people are doing the same thing including me, I can't wait. From what I've heard it's really easy to make friends out there as everyone's in the same boat. Any of you going to be in Sydney early January time?
