Hey Guys,

I was hoping that someone out there could give me some advice on cheap transport options from some European airports to the inner city areas. I will be travelling through London-Heathrow, Oslo, Athens and Frankfurt airports, and will need to get to hostels etc. most probably in the inner city region.

Could someone please give me some ideas about the transport options available - prefrably avoiding taxis due to their expense. Also, has anyone stayed at a hostel in any of these cities (London, Oslo, Athens, Frankfurt) that offer airport transfers to and from the hostel to the airport and vise versa?

Cheers,
Chalkers

Heathrow has regular bus links into London, also has an underground link which will get you into the city centre fairly cheaply and quickly. Don't know the exact price shouldn't be more than 3 or 4 pound. A taxi will probably take up your budget for the trip

Is it easy to walk around London, to get to places that arent accessed by the underground, or is it easier just to get a connecting bus??

Someone from a bus company once contacted me about us partnering with them, hang on... let me find their details....

okay, there it is :) www.lowcostcoach.com

They service the low cost airports I know but also might do the regular ones.

With regards to walking around London it can be easy to walk between some stations (for example Charing X and Embankment are 5 seconds away from each other!) but unless you have a good map that have the alleyways and everything on there it can also be easy to find yourself walking in the wrong direction!

If you decide to get buses, most drivers if you ask them will tell you where you need to get off etc to get to where you want.
