Hi All,

I am almost graduated from University, I only have one year left! My dream is to start travelling before I get tied down in a career. The problem is I'm not sure where would be the best place. I have heard Thailand but I want to experience culture and history. I was thinking Europe but it is probably really expensive. Any ideas? I need some place with a beach too would be ideal!

It depends on your budget, when you want to go and how long you want to go for.

Italy has a lot to see and do, and some nice beaches, as well as places like Lake Guarda where you can chill out.

What about India? There is lots of culture and history, its cheaper than Europe, and South have nice beaches. How long can you travel for?

South America is getting pretty popular with backpackers nowadays. Peru has some great beaches plus there's Machu Picchu and loads of archaeological sites nearby and Brazil is great for culture and nightlife.

That being said, Thailand has heaps of cultural and historical sites... you don't have to stick to the full moon parties!

I would also recommend Peru if you want to get the best historical experience, it is cheaper than Europe.
