leerol1, the chances of anyone on this forum (or ANY other travel forum) having walked that exact route is approximately the same as being stuck by a meteorite.

Actually, the meteorite has a much better chance of happening... Look up!
Cheers,
Terry

Heyyy, are you out of your mind, sorry to say this, it was the first impression which came up my mind :)
NO way, you cannot walk from Delhi to Goa..it is a huge distance...please don't at all think about it...
Board a train, and enjoy your journey...or change the location and travel to Agra or Rishikesh/Haridwar, or Jaipur(Rajasthan)...Phew.. :)

Only the Jain Monks walk all over the country. However considering you walk 6 km/hr and not more than 8 hours a day, you will cover only ~ 50 km a day. Also, you may need to travel through forests in Madhya Pradesh and Western Ghats which won't be very safe ( even if for wild animals only) ..

I didn't specify a specific route? Maybe there are people on here Terry (unlike yourself obviously) who have travelled between these destinations. They are the people I'm looking for. Thanks again for your response though, it's was, interesting I guess.

Ambitious but possible!! Well You can walk from Delhi to Goa...but I guess You would have your stuff to carry as well so that would limit Your energy levels plus...carry enough water to go through rough areas of Rajasthan where you will not find a soul for miles.....You can still carry on at your own risk. Do carry on a transmitter chip so that the Embassy can trace You ;-)
There are alternatives to walking and utilizing the energy in exploring cultural diversity, like taking a bus from one destination to the next and stay there or walk in the areas around as long as you wish and then head towards the next destination.....

Hope that helps!!

"... Maybe there are people on here Terry (unlike yourself obviously) who have travelled between these destinations..."

I've travelled/lived/worked in India extensively and have driven that route on several occasions, thus my accurate reply at #2.

My reply #11 is also 100% accurate.

Good luck and have fun.

Cheers,
Terry
