Hi there, i hope someone can answer my question!!!
How long can you stay in any one place with a RTW ticket?
I am looking to get a RTW ticket, but i need to stay in Melbourne, Australia, for the length of a cricket season, which is from around October to February. Is this possible?
Any Help is greatfully appreciated!!
As far as i'm aware there's no maximum, providing that you use it all in, normally, a year. I know people that have done 4 or 5 months in one place before, so guessing 6 would be ok as well.
What Gelli said - as long as you complete the trip within a year, they don't care when you schedule the stop-overs in between.
Enjoy the trip, and the cricket season!
Thanks a lot guys. That has really helped me no end with my plans!
I'm sure I will enjoy the Australian cricket season, apart from being branded a "pommie" by opposition players! Thanks!
You can stay in any country as long as the visa for that country allows you. And then you can always try the visa-run... leave the country just before the visa runs out and hope they give you a new one when you re-enter. Eg. Australia to Indonesia and Back a couple days later.
So the RTW ticket doesn't matter so much with regards to length of stay in a country. The ticket will help you to get a visa in some countries as it is proof that you will be leaving the country. Some countries need to know that you do intend on leaving before they will issue you a visa.
Good luck and have a great trip! I hope you like Melbourne (my home town!)
Thanks again! I'm sure I will enjoy Melbourne!
