Myself and a friend are starting a 2 month trip in December. All our flights are sorted and we have booked quite a bit of accomodation so i was wondering if anyone had any sugesstions of roughly how much money we will need.
Our plans are as follows:
Thailand: 3 weeks
Bali: 1 week
New Zealand: 3 weeks
Fiji: 1 week
We have booked the stray tour in New Zealand so all of our travel is booked for there but some activites aren't. We want to see and do as much as possible.
Also what is the best way to carry money? Do you know what the best card to take is to withdraw money in all destinations without any charges?
Any help would be appreciated :-)
No one can recommend a card when you give no clue where you're from.
Just google: pre paid credit cards.
If you have a lot of money, maybe spread it over 2 or 3 cards?
In general I'd say it's impossible to have a card without charges. It's just simple economics that the people issuing the cards are going to need to cover their costs, so there is always a cost. Having said that, it can differ a lot, and it can also be hidden quite nicely. A lot of cards don't charge you a fee for withdrawals, instead settling to add a little bit on the exchange rate. That can actually quickly end up more expensive, but if you make a lot of small payments, this is usually preferable to a fixed fee per transaction.
As a rough guide on a tight budget think...
New Zealand $65/day
Fiii No idea!
If you want a bit more luxury then double it
