Hey there, so i'm brand new on here, looking to make some friends, maybe find a couple of people to meet enroute :)

At the moment I've chosen to book with STA I know some people have had bad experiences, but so far they've been nothing but brilliant.

My plan at the moment is to fly at the end of January 2014 from; London to Miami, bus it up on the Bamba bus to New Orleans, Hang ther for around 2 days, then tour through Arizona etc to Las Vegas then LA for 16 days, from there Bamba hop on hop off up the beaches to San Fran, visit family there for 2 weeks, fly to Seatle, 3 days there, fly to Honalulu, 2 days there, fly to Nadi, Island hop tour for 12 days, then 2 days chilling on the beach, then fly to NZ and travel round on hop on hop off bus for a month, then fly into Aus with a working visa, stay in Sydney for 3 days, fly internally to Melbourne, stay with friends and work for appox a year, then hopefully on the way home, fly to Singapore for 4 days, the fly to Bangkok and tour it around Thailand and Cambodia and back to Bangkok, then fly home. Phewww :)

I'm aiming to do all of this is about 2 years appox. :) what do people think?

I'm a first time, female travel 24 years old and tbh I'm absolutly bricking it about this trip, but at the same point I'm dizzing with excitement :) I was worried about doing this trip alone, but these tours seem to give me the right amount of time in the right places. And enough freedom to see what I want and hang around if I feel like it. Im aiming altogether To cost appox ten thousand? Unrealistic or about right?

Tell me what you think? Any ideas on add on's or places I should see or stay?

Thanks Becks. :)

Hi Becks
This sounds amazing! You have the right idea, travel while you are young and single, see the world experience life to its fullest. Later on when you settle down and get married and have kids its not so easy to pack up and get going again!

Travelling by yourself is daunting but can be amazing as well as you will be more open to opportunities that if you were with someone else you may not do. Also the travelling community is really friendly and you'll make friends to hook up with all the time.

BTW when we travel we use this -snip- to get the best deals- so far we have saved a ton of money with them. Check it out you may find something cool!

Enjoy your travels you are going to have the most amazing time!

[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please. ]

Hi Becks

You will be in Fiji in their rainy season, it will be hot and wet...

I am in NZ and you will be here at the best time for weather, there are plenty of hop on hop off backpacker type bus tours to choose from, a month could be a little tight, there is more variety of scenery and things to do here than there is in Australia. But try to include 90 mile beach, Bay of Islands, Auckland, Rotorua, Taupo, Wellington (Te Papa museum), Kaikora (whale watching), Christchurch, Dunedin, Queenstown.

Australia is having a bit of an economic recession at the moment but Melbourne is your best bet for a job over there... Try to get up to the Gold Coast (Brisbane) and also to Tasmania
