Quoting Jonny Jenkins
I am so jealous. How long are you planning to be there for? (if you end up volunteering) I have done the big things in Rajasthan. Go to Jodhpur if you can, and Jaisalmer for the desert. if you contact the organization I am sure they would help you. Mount Abu is close to Udaipur, and really nice (or so I heard) And also... the rat temple, it's in the other end of Rajasthan, I haven't been there, but it sounds so different and maybe worth seeing! Hope you can use the suggestions!
Have a nice time in Pushkar, I was there once for the camel fair, and it was so amazing, did you have a chance to experience it?
Petricia, I ended up moving on from Udaipur to Jaisalmer... I'm really enjoying Rajasthan but am starting to think that I need to get out of the desert heat... So I'm thinking of either heading south and being closer to the ocean, or north into the Himalayas.
I was also in Pushkar for the camel fair, it was very nice and quite crazy! I've heard a bit about both Mount Abu and the rat temple, but haven't seen either of them myself.
Thanks for all the information, sounds like you have had a great time in India, are you still here?
I like the north more than south - but it would be very cold now I think. I am glad you are having a good time in India. No I am not in India anymore, but I did have an amazing time!!
I belive NOrth as well as SOuth part of India are totalyy good both have diffrent variation in culutre and customs while both are having good travel destinations. It's totally depedns on what type of travel you are loking for. Kashmir is vibrant place the heavan on the eath while kanyakumari also worth th same status. You can also visit the north east part they too are best.
Okay, I think I'm heading south... got that part figured out at least... Oh, and I just wanted to quote someone quoting someone else quoting me quoting someone... I may never have an opportunity to do that again in my life
