Hi,

Me and my girlfriend will be travelling Australia from January, we're hoping to travel up to brisbane where we will be (hopefully) working. We've saved a large amount of money each, but obviously we don't want to jump on a plane with in our bags.

I'm assuming the best thing to do would be to keep it in our english accounts, with some cash for arrival, then set up an australian account and transfer it over?

Does anyone know how much the fee's will cost to transfer it over, or could anyone recommend which bank we should go for?

Cheers,
Sam

I think you and your girl friend can create an account in a bank in Australia and then when you coming to Australia, you can get your money from the bank in Australia. In order to create an account in the bank in Australia, you can visit www.commbank.com.au/movingtoaustralia to fill in the form.

;)
