I am thinking about a trip with Intrepid travel to Vietnam June, 2014. I've read its the rainy season. I like the rainy season in South America, is travel doable in Vietnam with the rain? Is it rainy all the time or are there times of the day? thank you!

It can rain parts of every day and other times, you get dry days, but when it does rain, it can be very heavy, even some flooding in places but generally if you don't mind rain, and with less crowds about, it is still OK. The country is very green. That is why it is low season, and low prices.

One of those plastic macs with a hood is good, though they can get a bit hot.

Much better to be away in December to April when it is hot and normally dry there and very cold across the northern hemisphere. Currently lots of rain there.

Remember, you will need a visa and your passport must have 6 months validity left on it when you leave Vietnam.

There are differcence season from the North and the South of Vietnam. In the North of Vietnam, the rain season from June and July, and the South is from May to Oct but floating season is Jul to Oct. Vietname is a tropical country so the rain often heavy and long time, all time of the day and next days.. The family could have a farmer tour and cooking with local people. Very funy!!

In VN, Rain usually starts in May.
July and August are the wettest months of the year.
September and October rain began to fall. Rainy season takes place also varies by region.

If you already make your decision. Go on and try it.
In the raining season, also have some day no rain. If you lucky you will have some days get rain & some sunny day. Its beautiful.
The north Vietnam is more beautifull. WELL COEM YOU TO MY COUNTRY!
