Isa quietly sneaks in...

Yup, I'm another Galapagoan tortoise, though I do see Beerman every day.

My reality trips are the same as his - 'attached at the hip' as the saying goes.

Wishful trip(s) would be Guadalcanal, Peleliu, Portugal (for their luscious port wine), (maybe) Morocco and that over the water bungalow in the South Pacific - Pirate Ship a given! ;)

Do let us know if/when that happens; I figure Isa on this side of the pond would be cause for a moot.

My ninth visit to Norway but Alesund and Tromso will be New - and the Lofoten Islands.

Ooh, I'm jealous. The Lofoten are way up there as one of my favorite bits of Norway (along with the Svartisen and Hardangervidda highlands).

Reality: San Diego for Comic Con (cross fingers for badge sales) and working on a loose itinerary for Iceland in the late spring! Has anyone been before and have any tips?

Dreamland: Backpacking through Europe, only been to France so far

I've just booked to go to Colombia - very excited as I've wanted to go for so long.

I'd like to go to the Balkans too, as it's an area of Europe I haven't explored at all.

Really? Well, if you do ever get serious about it, please let me know and I'll help out with planning. You know it would be expensive to get to, but once you're there it would be quite cheap to stay a while. Just had a quick look and there's eco-lodges from about $40 per night. Of course, I assume you would want to be doing diving which might bump up the costs a bit :)

Brazil during the World Cup would be nice!! I was originally planning to combine it with a family holiday (football and family mix real well!! :)), but Margit is pushing for a Norwegian summer holiday this year, so we're debating that one.

Istanbul for a long weekend late Jan is the only thing I've actually booked so far.

Other than that it looks like nothing but short trips around Europe for work/pleasure. In other words, I really need to get that Brazil thing happening!!
