Hey, this may be a bit ambitious but does anyone know anything about driving from buenos aires to lima?
1) most importantly can a tourist buy a car? if so is it expensive?
2)is it safe do drive in these areas?
3)how long would we need to do it?

the main worry is probably getting the car? i've got a max 3 months maybe 4 but dont want spend the entire time driving.
cheers.

Hi Luciano, you can drive Buenos Aires to Lima, is very beautifull place, but you need more warning in night, america del sur no es tan seguro como europa.

thanks for the advice, i have drove through europe and i'm sure it is alot safer, but would still love to try the drive to Lima.
do you know if its possible for a tourist to buy a car? in peru maybe? we could possibly drive the other way. we're thinking of doing it early next year.

also do you know anything about the job scene in Peru? we would love to find some work there for a little while. we dont really care how much we earn as long as we can get by, may even do some voluntary work?is it hard for a tourist to find work? hablamos un poco espanol, pero solo un poco:)

Muchas Gracias,
luciano.

I read this book recently too and also watched the movie and this travel look really exciting.
U can try a book called "Lost Cities and Old Misteries from South American" or look for the brazilian title "Cidades Perdidas e Antigos Mistérios da América do Sul"
In this book u will find a lot of routes and travels.

Omar, I would work at anything really. I would be interested in teaching english or something. I also have a degree in computer science so if i could find work with that it would be brilliant. but basically anything that allows me to stay in peru for longer:)
