Hi Kerry,

I am due to fly into Sydney on the 29th i think and was going to book the oz intro to start when i land. I was then going to book a weeks stay at a hostel (not yet decided which) for after the oz intro and then was just going to see what happens when i am there.

I think i will start looking for work in fruit picking as soon as possible so that i can then get my 2nd year visa to work in australia. (you have to do a min of 3months work in fruit picking or a couple other kinds of work to be able to get your second year) I have found a website which shows you where the fruit picking jobs are all year round so could potentially travel all round australia following the harvest trail.

I cant remember the exact website at the moment but will have a look in my pile of research and see if i can find where i printed the guide from and will let you know :-)
Na never to eager i have been researching my travelling for the last year and still have another 7 months to go until i leave, its never to early to start looking into travelling.

I dont think the pay is great but it does have the benifits of most of them provide accomodation, it will help get your 2nd year WHV and you get to meet a lot of people who are doing the same as you.

Nope i have never been travelling before, i havent even been on holiday for the last 5 years so i am def throwing myself into the deep end :-)

Erm I would say pack the minimum amoutn possible, i am just taking a big backpack and day bag and will try fit what i can and the essentials in if not then i go without. You will be able to buy stuff as u go along and you have to remember if you are going to be taking internal flights they do have a weight limit and if u go over you will have to pay an excess which im sure is the last thing u will want if u are travelling on a budget.

Another one hoping to head out to Australia around the same time over here!

Really need to get my butt into gear and start sorting myself out making it official rather than just thinking it about it haha! So excited!
