Hi

I am travelling to Sydney on 2nd June, and of course I will be taking with me some money already exchanged into Dollars. However I was wanting to get people's advice on transferring money from my English bank account to an Australian one, which I will set up when I get out there. Is this an easy thing to do? Also are the transfer websites like Tranzfers the best way to do it?

Any advice on the matter would be great!

Steve

It is easy to set up. Your English bank will need the IBAN number for your Australian bank (it's country code, area code of your bank, account number, etc, all in one set of numbers).

I use it to send money to my bank in France. It costs very little, you get a good rate and it's there in a few days.

Why? Have you compared UK exchange rates to Aussie exchange rates and found them comparable? If so, where are you exchanging in the UK?

Cheers,

Well it was more just a case that I thought I should probably take some money with me. Haven't looked into where I'm getting my money changed yet.
