rastacourage has indicated that this thread is about Austria

I am having some trouble finding affordable accomodation in Hallstatt. i REALLY want to go here, but i also REALLY don't want to pay a ridiculous amount of money. I have found a place in Obertraun, but it seems like it will be quite a hassle to get across the lake daily. I have also found a place in Bad Goisern, but it seems too far from Hallstatt.

If anyone has any suggestion/knows info about the area it would be extremely helpful! Thanks!:)

What is your definition of affordable?

For the rest of our trip, we are paying around $30US/night. I really would prefer to avoid spending over 50 / night.

spent a week at Haus Trausner. This house is very close to the bus-stop and supermarket and a few minutes walk to the ferry terminal and town centre. it costs 35 euros including breakfast. Perfectly clean. I was travelling alone but never felt lonely or at a loss for something to do while staying there.

Stayed at Zimmer mit Familienanhang super that I booked on airbnb, there are several others, too. I'd check there.
