The cookies will only expire 10 days after the last visit. I don't remember missing the Isas for a ten day period :)

I have to log in every 10 days even though I visit TP everyday. It happens to both my home PC and my work laptop. I think you've "mistakenly" set it to expire 10 days after the last login instead of the last visit. Otherwise, the cookie update feature didn't work on every visit.

I have a password saver on my laptop...it says something like "Remember this password on this computer only" The only time I had to relog in was when I changed to Foxfire.(which is a gazillion times better than IE;) )

That's because we've run out of money and have to travel vicariously through all of you.

I think Hien may be right about the 10 day after last log-in idea. I am making a point of keeping track of the last log-in date. Since that was April 1st - it'll be easy to remember.

Maybe my Mac was just playing an April Fool's joke on me. I was not playing a joke when I posted this - the problem was real.

I will take one of those 10-day long cookies too. (Is that like an all-day sucker - the candy kind?)

Not an hour after I post that....I had to bloody log in! And me without real chocolate cookie;)

Well, I didn't wait the 10 days to see if i would have the log-in problem again... Sorry! But, I did just change my log-in password (successfully) and i have to log-in everytime I post or check a new thread/forum.

Just thought I would mention it. I will start counting down the days once more...

ps: can't wait until tomorrow, when it will stop asking me to log-in with every other click...

Hey Pete!

It looks like my cookies expired as of April 28th. I have had to re-enter my log-in info continually since the 28th - even though I keep checking the "remember me" box. I thought for sure it would "remember me" as the the 29th - but now it's the 30th and I am still having to log-in for each forum change and each reply - okay, so far I've only made one reply today.

Any ideas on why it is not remembering me after more than 48 hours?? Just curious... (I know who I am, really!)

Thanks!
G.

Hey Peter, Hein, Sam and Sander!!

Yesterday I had the same problem that isadora had, but I didn't check the 'Remember Me' box. I couldn't stay logged in for that very long. It kept logging me out when I would leave my computer for a while to do something quick, like grab a bite to eat .. . I guess I don't have the ten-day cookie to feast on for a few days... .. heh heh .. . though that would be great !

So are we making a problem by leaving the computer or is there some way that it could just let us stay logged in until we log out, if we get to log out (..because we selected 'Remember Me'?) ?

peace,
Steph

Hmmm, I don't really know what the problem is!

If you don't tick 'remember me', it should log you out after 90 minutes, which tends to be enough, and it's a LOT safer if you're on a shared computer of course. If you tick remember me though, you should have a 10 day cookie as stated before, which keeps you on for err, well, 10 days (as long as you don't log out or delete the cookies of course).

isa, when you say, you have to continually log on, does that mean 'every minute', or does that mean 'every 90 minutes' ?

Hi,

So nothing was wrong! ...I guess I should just check 'Remember Me.' I have nothing against cookies. Hmmm, I thought I would forget to log off all the time . . .

Oh, by the way could we have a "Help Page" on the forums? I seem to ask the most redundant, superficial questions sometimes, and it could have been something that I could just look up instead of confusing everyone....

Um, who is Sander, by the waym? I think i addressed a question/post to her and I don't even know who she is, or if she's an Admin or anything.

Peace,

Steph
