Thank you. That will be very much appreciated. I have talked to my friends and we have decided to fly to Las Vegas and start our road trip there. =D
I can contact you when we get closer July. Again thank you so much for your help. It will make the trip so much easier for us.=)

OK. Give me a shout a week before your arrival. I will see what is out there in your price range. Mike

That sounds like a plan. Do you know any insurance company that will give us auto insurance?

Are there some documents we need like a recommendation from our insurance company in Norway

I use one close to my house that compares many companies and chooses the best one for you. We can also check online to see if there is a better price out there. One of the problems for US insurance carriers is that they cannot check your driving history. Bring it along, but I doubt it will affect your rate. Budget about $150/month for insurance. Your rate will depend on: age, coverage, type of vehicle.

Hey guys,
me and my friends want to make a road trip - a month long or so. I am currently staying in NY, so we will start the trip here. Do you think its worth it to buy a car or you would recommend to rent - since it would be too much work with the title? We prefer to buy but as we are foreigners this could be difficult...?

Thanks for any ideas! Eva

Eva,
I have been told by other TP members that you have to have a NY drivers license to register a vehicle. If you have one, great. If not, then check with your DMV. With a 1 month trip, I would just rent something. The problems finding, buying, insuring, registering then selling a vehicle is not worth it for 1 month trip. Good luck.
