El Chalten

El Chalten is a town in the Santa Cruz Province in Patagonia, southern Argentina, about 220 kilometres north of El Calafate. It's a popular town for trekkers and climbers to base themself while exploring the region.

    No trains, you´ll have to take the bus. Trekking highlights and Bariloche, Esquel, El Bolson, El Chalten, and Ushuaia. El Calafate is where that glaciar is but that´s all there is there, not much treking (or at least i couldn´t find any). You can trek in these places without guides. Maps can be obtained ...
