Arcos de la Frontera

Arcos de la Frontera is a town located about 25 kilometres from Jerez de la Frontera. It lies on the top of a ridge that lies above the Guadalete river. The adding of the "de la Frontera" (on the frontier), comes from being a border town during the time of the reconquista.
