I've done Sydney->Cairns in two months. I've stopped at Mission Beach, Townsville(Magnetic Island), Airlie Beach(Whitsundays), Hervey Bay, Rainbow Beach(Fraser Island), Noosa, Brisbane, Surfers Paradise, Byron Bay, Coffs Harbour ... to name a few. You can go to loads of other places from each town as well ...

Mate, if youre on a limited timescale then i can understand that you want to narrow down the best places to go. What I would say is go and check out Coffs Harbour and Byron Bay. Spend at least two days in each. In Coffs the beaches are unbelievable, and if you want to go out on the piss theres some good ...
