hello we slept here 1 night with our 3 kids. the location was a bit far from the center (no restaurants for breakfast just local market and 7-eleven) en the owners don't speak english at all. the beds are just thin matras on the floor with clamboo's above. A lovely guesthouse run by a very friendly and helpful family! The location right next to the river is great, and it's good to be a little bit off the touristy area (but still close enough to get to all the sights easily by bicycle, which can be rented directly at the guesthouse). ... more

James, With only 4 weeks, I think you should just do a loop of Thailand, down into Malaysia and end up in Singapore. Perhaps Ayutthaya, Sukhothai, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, back down to Udon Thani, Korat, BKK, Samui, Krabi, Hat Yai, into Malaysia, leaving 3-4 days for Singapore. Good Luck. ...
