Sighetu Marmatiei
Sighetu Marmatiei (also spelled Sighet), with its 41.000 inhabitants, is the main town of the Maramureş region (northern Transylvania, Romania). Inhabited since the Stone Age, the settlement was first mentioned in 1334, and as town, in 1352. Today, Sighet is the gate of Maramureş, and one of its most important tourist attractions.

La famille Muntean nous a très bien accueillit. Mr Muntean est venu nous chercher à la gare avec sa voiture car l'emplacement de la pension est à 6 km de Sighetu. Nous avons mangées quelques fois sur place. Les repas étaient excellents, copieux et pas cher. Madame Muntean est très accueillante aussi et rend beaucoup de services. ... more
