Luang Prabang is one of the most popular destinations in Laos and one of the most popular cities to visit in all of Southeast Asia. The old city has a wonderful feel of being the royal capital and then a French colonial centre. It is very easy to spend several days relaxing by the Mekong or jumping off of water falls outside of town.

absolutely charming managers, telling me very interesting stories. felt very welcome there. I booked the tent which was not available at that time so they just put me into one of the lodges. It is worth the exxperience because the wooden lodges are right next to the river and you can hear all the animals outside. ... more

Excellent guest house, extremely clean room and large comfortable bed with crisp white cotton sheets. A perfect riposte to the 2 day slow boat trip with wonderful hot water shower.
