Malaga

Málaga is a city at the southern coastline of Spain, the Costa del Sol. Most people who arrive at the airport leave the city as fast as they can and head for the beaches in one of the surrounding towns. A shame as Málaga has some sights to offer, and is trying hard over the last couple of years to become a more attractive city for tourists.

Undoubtedly the lodge is cheep and if cost is your main priority then no doubt this will be perfectly fine; it is clean, has a reasonable kitchen (albeit we didn't use), an internet computer which is free to use and good bathrooms with excellent showers. That said it is good 15 minute walk from the main town and nearer 25 minutes from the beech. ... more

The beach is only a 5-10 minute walk away. You'll have to take the bus to Malaga Centro, but it's close enough. There's great cafes, bars, seafood restaurants, ATMs and a minimart, all within walking distance. It's also very easy to find - just a short walk away from the bus stop - and staff are friendly. ... more

El Riad Andaluz

Quirky and unusual, with a strong Moroccan influence. You'll either love it or hate it -- I absolutely loved it despite the lack of a shower curtain that resulted in a slightly flooded bedroom. My room was clean and the bed more comfortable than any of the other five hotels I stayed at during this trip. ... more

Could not have asked for more and my expectations were totally exceeded. I stayed in a twin room with a friend for a three-night stay, and we used the lodge as a base for discovering historic Malaga.

Good value for money, quite close to the amenities, safe and quiet, hot showers. It was a bit too warm in the room, but, frankly speaking, it was during extremely hot time in July.
