Oaxaca is a state located in southern Mexico on the pacific coast just west of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. This area is the traditional home of the Zapotec and Mixtec people making this state contain more speakers of indigenous languages then any other Mexican state.

We chose this place by its location -- 2 blocks from the Zocalo. It is an attractive little 6 room hotel. Saturday Inn Guest house
The housekeepers were very nice and helpful and the hostel was very clean. However, we had trouble with the hot water and this is about 20 min away from downtown so we ended up renting a car and driving in the crazy traffic in hot weather.
