Travel Guide > About:Index > About:Featuring articles
Featured articles are the cream of the crop. They're articles that are comprehensive and interesting to read.
When an article is featured, a few things happen: first of all, it will start popping up on the main guide page. At the same time, it will become editable only by full members and above. This is to ensure that the quality of the article is maintained.
An article can be un-featured.
Articles are featured by administrators. Before an article can be featured, it needs to meet certain criteria:
If you think your article has what it takes, you can submit it for featuring by suggesting so on the article's Discussion page. It may not be featured instantly: the administrators will probably make suggestions for improvement and might put it up on Project:Central so that other users can add their contributions before the article is featured. But be patient and keep working at it!
Unless you're a full member or above, you will not be able to edit a featured article. If you feel something should definitely be changed, you can make suggestions through the article's Discussion page.
