For a quick way to find out what the core topics (ones that really need to be covered) for an article are, you can apply the appropriate template. When starting a new article, the button to do this is located above the editing field. If you're working on a pre-existing article, you can find the "Apply a Template" button below the editing field, above the "Save" button.
The templates available are: global regions, countries, national regions, cities, towns, city neighbourhoods, specific sights and airports.
Core topics are the ones that people need to know if they're going to travel somewhere. These topics depend on whether you're writing about a country, a national region (like a state or province) or a city.
